JG Swim Prep Class
Get Ready for Junior Lifeguards
JG prep is the perfect opportunity for swimmers to refine their skills, improve technique, and build the necessary conditioning for a local junior lifeguard program. Designed as a preparation course for Junior Lifeguard tryouts in the Spring, this class aims to enhance swimming abilities and ensure participants meet the minimum requirements to qualify.
A few things to know about the JG Prep program
Please note that the Junior Lifeguard Swim Prep class is not a learn-to-swim program. It is intended for swimmers with basic swimming skills who are looking to enhance their abilities further.
-
Our objective is to create a fun and stress-free group environment where swimmers can work on their swim techniques, endurance, and overall conditioning. By the end of the course, participants will feel confident and prepared for the challenges of the Junior Lifeguard tryouts.
-
To ensure the best learning experience, we kindly request that all participants meet the following requirements:
Long hair must be pulled back during lessons. Swim caps will be provided for added convenience.
Initially, goggles will not be used in the lessons. It is important for students to learn to swim without relying on goggles. Once they can comfortably open their eyes underwater, they may begin using goggles under the instructor's recommendation.
Each participant must bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the class. Additionally, we encourage all swimmers to apply sunscreen for sun protection during outdoor lessons.
-
Please be aware that campus locker rooms will not be available during the swim prep class. However, changing restrooms will be provided for convenience. We advise all participants to come prepared to dress warmly after practice to ensure their comfort.
At Rincon Swim School, we are committed to preparing your child for the exciting world of Junior Lifeguards. What People Are Saying
“With 3 kids, we’ve spent 100’s of hours in swim lessons, and Andrea is by far the most effective teacher any of my children have had.
My youngest isn’t always easy to teach (Andrea has an incredible tolerance for screaming toddlers!), but at almost 2.5 she is at the same level my older children were at 4 years old. Not only is my daughter quickly progressing towards being water-safe thanks to Andrea’s instruction, but she loves going to swimming lessons and makes noticeable improvement every lesson. Andrea has the perfect combination of patience, skill and experience to know how to challenge and motivate her students, while keeping her lessons fun. We love Andrea! We really do:)”
— Sarah Grewe, Carpinteria
Andrea was instrumental in my 8 year old daughter passing the Junior Guards swim test this year. She's a total fish but when it came to putting her face in the water and proper form, she had a mental block.
After just a few lessons with Andrea she cut a full minute off of her swim time and she passed! But the best part of the whole experience was when my daughter said "Mom, Andrea really cares about me doesn't she." I cannot recommend Andrea enough, she truly is gifted at what she does.
