Cate School

It offers a wide staircase into a shallow 3 1/2 foot pool, comfortable for all levels of swimming. The deck privately fitted with comfortable chairs and shade for viewing your small swimmers.

Swim lessons are an essential service for the safety of your child. It is an investment in their life long future. All lesson sign ups require a 3 month commitment for beginners as results emerge at this time. Swimmers who are water safe and proficient will require 4 lesson minimum.

Each family is required to register their child/children. There is a renewal fee each year for current and returning families.  All registration fees are non refundable and a portion of the registration fee is donated to Girls Inc. of Carpinteria.

Why the 3- 6 Month Commitment?

There's a lot of trust to build between the student and instructor. This is a new environment and person your child is introduced to. It takes 4-6 lessons for them acclimate and start to trust the process which is about a month worth of lessons. Around the end of the 3 months (swimmers coming twice a week; once a week will take longer) water safety results emerge. The learn to swim portion begins around 5 months. Lessons are education just like schooling; not all can be learned in a few lessons.

Please note - 3 month commitment for families swimming twice a week and a 6 month commitment for families swimming once a week.

"My twin five year old daughters signed up for swim lessons with Andrea in 2020. Of course I was proud of the gains they made in the pool as emergent swimmers under Andrea's guidance, but the highlight for me was how much they spoke about Andrea and her swim tips outside of swim lessons. They have such a positive association with water and swimming, and I am grateful to Andrea for making that happen."
